- Parents are encouraged
to volunteer at school in the classroom. Speak to your student's teacher to get set up.
- Help at special
events and extra curricular activities.
- Attend the monthly PTO meetings to see where you are needed.
- Support our Athletic program. Attend the events and assist the coaches.
|
| Communicate |
- Communication with your student
and the school is very important. We encourage
parents to communicate with their teachers
via email or by
calling them at their extensions.
- You do not
have to wait until the Parent/Teacher Conference
Days to conference with your teacher(s). Email them or call them to schedule an
appointment.
- Communicate with your student
about what they learn each day regarding
homework assignments, future projects, or special
events. This will show them that you feel education
is important.
- Give your feedback online. Tell us what you like or what you would like to see different.
|
| Participate |
Parents can participate in their
student's education in many ways that fit even the busiest schedules. Participation can be in different forms:
- Attend special events and field trips. This can
be very rewarding for students and parents.
- Find volunteer needs that can be done from
your home by checking with your teacher or Front Office.
- Set aside time each day to talk to your child
about their day. Ask questions and offer
your assistance. This can be one of the most valuable
ways of participating in their education.
|
| Support |
Parents can support their student
by:
- offering positive feedback.
- assisting their
student to find the best time for homework and a work space.
- staying tuned to school activities
and school information.
- viewing their student
planner for homework assignments.
- visiting schoolnotes.com where
some teachers post daily homework assignments.
- verbally reminding their students that
they are available for questions and assistance.
- committing to transporting them to and from school activities, if possible.
